A New Era
by Auciel Hicks
One of the most influential and beloved touchstones of the West Chester community has a new name. At their annual gala on November 15, the formerly-titled Charles A. Melton center, located at 501 East miner st. announced the organization’s decision to change its name to the “West Chester Community Center”, effective immediately.
The gala brought together community members to celebrate the occasion. Speakers included Sen. Carolyn Comitta, Rep. Chris Pielli, Mayor DeBaptiste, as well as the center’s Board President Koreem Bell and Executive Director Ken Winston, to share some of the center’s many accomplishments and plans for its ambitious future.
Why the change?
